Consensus govt UML's policy: Leader Nepal

KATHMANDU: Senior leader of ruling CPN-UML and former prime minister Madhav Kumar Nepal said his party would not object to the formation of a national consensus government as the party policy also favoured the same.

Upon his arrival at the Tribhuvan International Airport today after participating in a Communist parties' conference in Vietnam, Nepal said a majority government should not be an alternative to the existing majority government.

Therefore, a national government should be formed upon initiatives by three major political parties, he argued.

Nepal added that the major parties should also determine a time-bound plan for such government.

He was of the view that all major parties should work together to end the long-existing political transition.
