KATHMANDU: The journey to end the human rights violation would be long, the National Human Rights Commission said on the occasion of the World Human Rights Day 2016.

Also today, the NHRC organised a rally that later turned into a corner meet at Shantibatika to mark the day.

Speaking at the function, the NHRC Chairman Anup Sharma claimed that the incidents of human rights violations can be minimised in the country if the leaders of the ruling and opposing parties followed the rules to ensure the human rights.

National Federation of the Disabled, Nepal Vice President Tika Dahal said that the people with physical disabilities are deprived of human rights the most.

Similarly, National Dalit Commission member Sita Ram Ghale said that the freed Haliyas and Kamaiyas are still victimsed in this regard.

Apart from the NHRC officials, representatives from the other 15 organisations working to ensure human rights participated in the programme.
