Naya Shakti Nepal discusses Constitution implementation

KATHMANDU: The Baburam Bhattari-led Naya Shakti Nepal organised an interaction to discuss the implementation of Constitution, in Kathmandu on Friday.

Speaking at the interaction, the party’s Coordinator Bhattarai opined that smooth implementation of the Constitution was frequently obstructed as the Madhes-based communities were still dissatisfied with some clauses in the historic document, even after 11 months its promulgation including an amendment.

Bhattarai stated that some necessary amendments must be made to the Constitution, incorporating the demands of the underprivileged and maginalised communities and to overcome the political and economic instability that the country was facing now.

Bhattarai stressed that unless the dispute was resolved, the implementation would not be possible.

The former Prime Minister also underlined that after the restoration of democracy, no any government had been able to complete its tenure, adding this pattern was worrisome.

Various leaders of the political parties, economists and others were present at the programme.
