NC CWC meeting called tomorrow

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress has called a meeting of its Central Working Committee for Wednesday to discuss contemporary political issues, including election of the prime minister and formation of a new government.

According to Rishikesh Tiwari, chief secretary of the party’s central office, the CWC meeting has been called for 8:30am on Wednesday at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar.

It has been learned that the ruling party is preparing to field its own candidate for the new Prime Minister, notwithstanding the apparent “gentlemen’s agreement” that the top leaders of Nepali Congress, CPN-UML and UCPN-Maoist had reached to elect CPN-UML KP Sharma Oli as the country’s executive head, before promulgation of the new Constitution.
