NC leader Paudel stresses on partnership

Kathmandu, July 24

Senior leader of the Nepali Congress Ramchandra Paudel has stressed on giving continuity to the culture of consensus and partnership even after formation of the new government.

Speaking during the discussion on the no-trust motion registered against Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli in the Parliament, Paudel said he expected support from Oli for the implementation of the new constitution.

Similarly, NC lawmaker Dhaniram Sharma added that they were compelled to register the no-motion as the government had failed to carry out its duties responsibly.

Lawmaker Mahesh Acharya suggested to the PM Oli to resign from the post to facilitate formation of the new government. He also suggested the CPN-UML not to draw the President into controversy.

CPN-UML lawmaker Rajendra Pandey said no remarks that undermine the dignity and self-esteem of others should be made in the Parliament. Calling on parties to be serious about the future of the country, he said UML had no greed for power.

Prakash Sharan Mahat from the Nepali Congress accused the government of neglecting the needs of earthquake survivors. He also urged the PM not to undermine the importance of parliamentary practices and democratic system.

CPN-UML’s Sushil Nepal said it was unfortunate that the no-trust motion was filed against the government that had always acted in the ‘interests’ of the nation and people.

CPN-Maoist Center’s Shakti Bahadur Basnet stressed on maintaining unity among parties and discouraging politics of negation.
