Nepali Congress to hold its general convention in February

KATHMANDU: The ruling Nepali Congress (NC) has decided to hold its 13th general convention in February.

A meeting of the party office-bearers meeting held at Prime Minister Sushil Koiral's official residence in Baluwatar on Tuesday morning made the decision to this effect.

The date for general convention, however, will be fixed by the Central Working Committee meeting slated for Wednesday.

Earlier, the Nepali Congress had postponed the party gala, scheduled for September 19 to 22 in Kathmandu, for the promulgation of new Constitution.

The current leadership of the party and its executive committee was elected in September 2010 through the party’s 12th general convention.
