KATHMANDU: Nepal Congress's Mohan Bahadur Basnet and Santosh Chalise have won the mayoral post of Nagarjun and Gokarneshwor Municipalities in Kathmandu respectively.

NC's Mohan Bahadur Basnet secured 6,961 votes while his closest contender CPN-UML's Krishna Hari Khatri collected 6,726 votes.

Likewise, UML's Sushila Adhikari was elected as the deputy mayor of Nagarjun Municipality. He collected 6,871 votes.  NC's Sundar Bahadur KC was elected as ward number 1chairperson in the municipality-10.

Similarly, NC's Santosh Chalise has been elected as the mayor of Gokaneshwor Municipality.

He garnered 9,009 votes while his nearest contender UML's Punya Prasad Chaulagain got 7,595 votes.

NC's Shanti Nepal claimed the deputy mayoral post with 8,598.
