Kathmandu, August 17

Nepal Press Union and Press Centre Nepal have decided to forge an alliance for the central elections of Federation of Nepali Journalists scheduled for August 21.

NPU and PCN would field Gobinda Acharya for the post of FNJ president and Bipul Pokharel for the post of vice-president.

Dilip Thapamagar will contest the polls for the post of vice president from inclusive quota.

Likewise, Ramesh Bista will compete for the post of general secretary, Laxmi Pun for secretary (women), Ram Prasad Dahal for secretary (open), Udaya GM for secretary (Janajati) and Shital Mahato for the post of secretary (Madhesi quota ).

Also, Rajesh Mishra is competing for the post of treasurer. Names of other candidates will be finalised in a few days, said an alliance member.
