Nepali climber gifts stone from South America's highest peak to PM

KATHMANDU: Mountaineer and athlete Sanjay Pandit gifted a stone that he brought from Mount Aconcagua as a symbol of courage to Prime Minister Sushil Koirala at the latter's official residence at Baluwatar in the capital on Monday morning.

Pandit had collected the stone the highest peak of South America while scaling it.

He has already climbed the six highest peaks of six continents and is preparing to climb Mount Vinson Massif, the highest peak of Antarctica.

Earlier, mountaineer Pandit has handed over the half part of the same stone to the Minister for Sports Purushottam Poudel.
