KATHMANDU: Former Finance Minister and Nepali Congress (NC) leader Dr Ram Sharan Mahat was admitted to the Dhapasi-based Grande International Hospital on Wednesday afternoon.

Mahat was rushed to the hospital after he fell down the stairs of his house in Bansbari yesterday afternoon, Mahat's aide, Ramesh Mahat said.

Mahat's left heel was cracked in the incident, Ramesh said.

He further said that Mahat will be operated on Friday.

Meanwhile, NC senior leader Ram Chandra Paudel and other NC leaders and members of Parliament had reached the hospital and took stock of Mahat's health condition.
