Nepali team leaves for Kyirung to bring petrol

KATHMANDU: A representative team of the Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) left for Kyirung of China on Friday to receive subsidy petrol, China had pledged to Nepal.

As the grant fuel is said to reach the bordering Kyirung till Saturday evening, as part of China’s promise to provide 1.3 million litres of petrol as grant, the team including NOC spokesperson Dipak Baral along with 12 tankers set out towards Kyirung to receive the petrol, said Hari Prasad Bashyal, Nepal’s Consular General in Lhasa.

Baral said that 12 tankers with capacity of 12,000 litres each have been sent to Kyirung to receive the fuel provided by China in first lot.

He said that the fuel tankers would be filled with petrol the same day on Saturday.

Shiva Prasad Aryal, General Secretary of the Federation of the Nepal Petroleum Transport Entrepreneurs (FNPTE), said that the oil tankers will ferry the total 102,000 litres petrol in a lot. Aryal is also part of the team.

The team also includes Khageshwor Bohara, Chairman of the FNPTE and Lilendra Pradhan, chairman of the Nepal Petroleum Dealers’ Association.
