3 more DPMs, 4 ministers sworn-in; total Cabinet strength is 26

This is the first time in Nepal's political history that Nepal has as many as six DPMs

KATHMANDU: Newly appointed Deputy Prime Ministers and Ministers took the oath of office and secrecy from President Bidya Devi Bhandari.

The following Ministers were administered the oath:

  1. Bhim Bahadur Rawal (UML): Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Defence

  2. CP Mainali (ML): Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Women, Children and Social Welfare

  3. Chitra Bahadur KC (Janamorcha Nepal): Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation

  4. Shanta Manavi (UML): Minister without portfolio

  5. Bishnu Prasad Paudel (UML): Minister for Finance

  6. Ananda Pokharel (UML): Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation

  7. Sher Dhan Rai (UML): Minister for Information and Communication Technology

     

Ministers without portfolio given responsibilities

Meanwhile, PM Oli finalised portfolios of some ministers who were earlier appointed as ministers without portfolio. Now, the following ministers have the portfolios as listed below:

  • Satya Narayan Mandal (UML): Minister for Youth and Sports
  • Ram Janam Chaudhary (Madhesi Janaadhikar Forum-Democratic): Minister for Health and Population
  • Bishwendra Paswan (Bahujan Shakti Party): Minister for Science and Environment
  • Ram Kumar Subba (Rastriya Prajatantra Party-Nepal): Minister for Land Reform and Management
  • Mohammad Mustaq Aalam (MJF-D): Minister of State for Health and Population
  • Meghraj Nepali Nishad (Madhes Samata Party): Minister of State for Industry

Now, only Shanta Manavi is left without portfolio.
