KATHMANDU: UCPN-Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal said it was not an appropriate time to change the government as the date to announce the next budget was approaching closer.

Speaking at an interaction programme to mark the 198th birth anniversary of Karl Marx here on Thursday, leader Dahal underscored the need of unity among leftist parties in the country.

Expressing his thanks to the major opposition party Nepali Congress (NC) for requesting the UCPN -Maoist to take charge of the new government, Dahal, also a former Prime Minister, argued that the national issues would not be resolved by merely changing the government.

Leader Dahal shared that he could continue consultations with the NC and Madhes-centric political parties for forging national consensus.
