‘No kids in protests’

KATHMANDU: Child Workers in Nepal (CWIN) today appealed to political parties as well as other concerned to stop using children in protests, rallies, and other political demonstrations. Issuing a press statement here on Tuesday, CWIN said the children were at high risk of being misused at a time when political parties were demonstrating and protesting over various issues in the draft constitution. CWIN also condemned the act of using children with half-nude bodies during the demonstration in Khalanga, Jumla, on August 15. It urged the leadership of the parties not to use children in such activities in future. It also appealed to the protesting political parties not to shut schools and academic institution under any circumstances or pretexts.
