Not tired yet to shoulder premiership, asserts Oli

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli on Thursday said he was not tired yet to carry out the responsibilities of the premiership.

Speaking at a function in Kathmandu today, Oli said, "Please do not talk about changing the shoulder (responsibility of premiership). KP Oli's shoulder is not tired yet."

"I am being shouted at and threatened to quit the position," Oli said, "It is not acceptable to me. I am not of the nature to bow to the shouting and threats."

He, however, maintained that he did not have any lust for the power and was ready to quit if it would do some good to the nation and its people.

Oli claimed that he was elected the prime minister as a result of his service to the nation and he would continue working for the nation till the last minute of his tenure.

Meanwhile, Oli refused some media reports that had claimed that he had an agreement with the CPN Maoist Centre Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal about the change of guard.

"Where was this three-point agreement concluded about power handover," he said, "Can you please show it to me, for I have only signed the nine-point agreement with the Maoists?"

At the function, Oli also urged protesting Madhes-based parties to end street protests and come to the negotiation table.
