NSU warns of agitation if transport fare not slashed

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Students Union on Wednesday warned that it would resort to street protests if the government did not immediately slash the public transportation fare as per the decrease in price of petroleum products.

The student wing of main opposition Nepali Congress issued the warning two days after the Nepal Oil Corporation slashed the price of petrol, diesel and aviation fuel considering the decreasing price of oil in the international market.

Following the NOC decision, domestic airlines operators, however, have already reviewed their tariffs to be effective from today.
