NTC launches new social networking site ‘Meet’

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Telecommunications on Monday unveiled a new social networking portal ‘Meet’ with a prime aim to develop relations among the customers.

Minister for Information and Communications Sherdhan Rai inaugurated the networking site by chatting with NTC Bhojpur Chief Ram Kumar Mahji. Under the new site, users can exchange pictures, audio and visual, and scripts. The network also allows NTC staff to interact with the customers on various services of the company.

The network has been launched with an investment of around Rs 12.24 million. The company has registered the new networking site under the domain name, www.meet.net.np. Its brand name will be ‘Meet’.

The NTC will provide 10 SMS to customers cost-free through the new service. The customers can also avail of additional facility to send multiple messages in one-go by paying a certain fee in a package. The company also aims to continue to burnish the new site adding more services to it in order to meet customers growing demands.

On the occasion, Minister Rai expressed belief that the new social networking site launched by the NTC would be beneficial to all.

On a different note, he added that with the implementation of the new constitution, the country would embark towards socio-economic development.

The Minister also confided that the negotiations with United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF) on ending the protracted strikes and blockade in Tarai was in the final stage and solution would be sought within a day or two.
