Partial impact of bandh in Valley

KATHMANDU: The general strike called by the Nepal Federation of Indigenous Nationalities (NEFIN) has partial impact in the Valley on Sunday.

Demanding delineation of federal states based on identity, secularism and provision of Janajati commission in the new constitution, NEFIN resorted to the Nepal bandh.

Many private and public vehicles are seen plying the roads, while businesses are gradually opening.

Most of the schools and colleges, however, remained closed.

There are not reports of any violent activities in the Valley.

Meanwhile, Nepali Police said that 18 bandh enforces were arrested from the Capital city this morning. Of them, 15 were held from Balaju.

Similarly, police held the NEFIN activists from Chabahil and Talsikhel as well.
