KATHMANDU: A teenage girl lost her life and another persons was injured after a tanker hit a motorcycle that they were riding on, at Gatthaghar of Bhaktapur on Monday night.

The victim was pillion rider, identified as 19-year-old Sushma Kutu. The injured man is 24-year-old Aman Kutu. They are residents of Kaushaltar.

Critially injured in the incident, the Kutu duo were rushed to  the nearby Nagarik Community Teaching Hospital for treatment.

The girl, however, breathed her last during the course of treatment, according to police.

The bike that Kutu was riding on was heading to Kaushaltar from Sanothimi via Gatthaghar when the tanker heading to Kathmandu hit it.

The tanker and its driver have been taken in custody for investigation, police said.
