PM meets injured Madhes protesters at Bir Hospital

Kathmandu, October 6

Prime Minister Sushil Koirala today visited Bir Hospital to enquire about the health conditions of persons injured in the protests in the Tarai and receiving treatment at the hospital.

According to a press statement issued by Prime Minister’s Press Coordinator Prakash Adhikari, the prime minister wished the injured speedy recovery and informed them that the government had decided to bear all cost for their treatment.

PM Koirala also told the families of the injured to inform him if they encountered any problem in the course of treating their injured relatives. The prime minister also told them that the government had formed a team to hold talks with the agitating parties and was trying to seek a negotiated settlement of the disputed constitutional issues.

PM Koirala also enquired the medical staff about the condition of the injured. He was accompanied by Forest Minister Mahesh Acharya, Health Minister Khagaraj Adhikari and Home Secretary Surya Silwal, Health Secretary Shant Bahadur Shrestha.
