PM not to waste time in inaugurations 'except exceptions'

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal said he would not waste his time in inauguration of formal events except exceptions during his premiership in a bid to making his tenure effective.

Addressing a function in Banasthali of Kathmandu on Saturday, he said, "I think there should be result-oriented performance."

"I came to this programme as it was fixed before I was elected the Prime Minister," he maintained, "Now, I will not spend my time in inaugurations and cutting ribbons except exceptions."

Dahal said his CPN Maoist Centre party would also prioritise meeting expectations of the people as it had become one of the largest parties after merger of 10 Maoist parties and groups into the single party on May 19.

Other leaders of the party had also spoken at the function.
