PM Oli releases health-update video on social media

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma released a video through his Twitter handle on Monday apprising his well-wishers of his present health status which in the past few days has seen a wave of lows.

In this video, PM Oli says he's recovering after his appendicitis surgery, which happened all of a sudden without prior signs or symptoms as it usually does in such cases.

'The treatment went very well. As you can see through this update, I am doing fine at the moment,' Oli is seen as saying in the video released at  4:58 pm.

The Prime Minister also makes it a point to talk about the South Asian Games before closing his statement.

Oli had undergone appendicitis surgery on Tuesday at TUTH after his appendix burst. He had visited the hospital in the morning after he complained of pain in the abdomen. He was diagnosed with appendicitis and infection in the stomach (peritonitis).

He was given platelets after the surgery to make sure he did not bleed profusely. The PM has been regularly visiting hospitals of late after his transplanted kidney failed to function properly. The PM underwent a successful kidney transplant in India in 2007 after both his kidneys failed to function.
