PM's India visit unsuccessful, claims UDMF

KATHMANDU: The agitating United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF) on Saturday claimed that Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli's state visit to India was completely unsuccessful.

The UDMF held a meeting at the Federal Socialist Forum Nepal office on Saturday morning to review the protest programmes and said that the Prime Minister did a mistake that he went to India without taking any agenda.

The Front has decided not to sit for talks until the government come up with concrete road map to address the its demands.

The meeting has also decided to submit a memorandum to the Prime Minister to pile pressure on the government to address the 11-point demands put forth by the Front at the earliest.

One of the leaders, who attended the meeting, said that the form of protest has been changed at present, and warned that the Front would resort to stern protest if the government did not address its demands promptly.

The meeting also formed a seven-member secretariat comprising Rajendra Shrestha of Federal Socialist Forum Nepal, Brijesh Chandra Lal of Tarai Madhesi Democratic Party, Manish Kumar Suman of Sadbhawana Party, Ram Naresh Raya of Tarai Madhes Sadbhawana Party, Keshav Jha of Nepal Madhes Socialist Party, Kaushlendra Mishra of Nepal Sadbhawana Party and Paramesh Kumar Sah of Madhesi Janadhikar Forum-Democratic to review protest programmes and formulate new strategies and additional protest programmes.
