KATHMANDU: Fire has destroyed property worth around Rs three million at a house in Gongabu in the capital on Saturday.

Shrestha Book Shop and a travel agency operated at the ground floor of  Uttam Kumar Shrestha's house caught fire, said Police Inspector Subas Khadka of Metropolitan Police Sector, New Bus Park.

The owner of the house was quoted in Rastriya Samachar Samiti as saying that the fire broke out from an electrical short circuit.

Police personnel, and the fire brigade with the help of locals doused the fire, said police.
