Dahal, Oli meet to discuss contemporary issues

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister and CPN Maoist Centre Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal on Friday held a meeting with the main opposition leader and CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli to discuss contemporary political issues.

PM Dahal's personal secretary Ramesh Mall told THT Online that the two leaders, in particular, had discussed preparations for the Constitution amendment and making grounds for the local body elections after finalising the number of local bodies.

He, however, said conclusions of the meeting were not divulged yet.

According to the PM's Secretariat, Dahal had proposed Oli that major political parties should come together for the Constitution amendment and subsequent implementation.

Of late, the major parties are said to be coming closer on various political issues facing the nation including the two.

The main opposition, UML, however, still seems to be adamant on its position about the Constitution amendment.
