Rally organized demanding disabled-friendly constitution

KATHMANDU: Differently-able people here have organised a rally demanding promulgation of a disabled-friendly constitution.

The rally started from the office premises of the National Disabled Federation at Bhrikutimandap in the capital today.

It turned into a corner meet at Bhadrakali. Addressing the corner meet, the federation chair Sudarshan Subedi urged the parties and the Constituent Assembly to include their suggestions in the new constitution as over 5,000 differently-able people had sent their suggestions demanding a disabled-friendly constitution.

Similarly, the federation general secretary Tika Dahal informed that they would be compelled to go for protest if their demands were not addressed.

It is stated that about three million people of the total population in the country are disabled.
