Ranjana script to be reinstated in KMC letterhead

KATHMANDU: The Ranjana script, which was removed from the Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC)'s official letterhead with the implementation of the new local level structure, will now be reinstated.

A board meeting of KMC took the decision after demands for the same from different sides, KMC Media Official Chandramani Bhattarai informed.

Earlier, locals had staged a demonstration under the coordination of Naresh Bir Shakya citing that the removal of the script entailed loss of the national identity.

Ranjana script, which is used to write Nepal Bhasa, has been registered as Nepal's traditional script since the time it gained membership of the United Nations (UN).
