KATHMANDU: A police constable was injured after a robber allegedly attacked him with stones in Lokanthali of Bhaktapur on Friday.

Police said Bhim Bahadur Chaudhary, deployed from the Metropolitan Police Sector, Balkot, was attacked by a robber while the cop tried to take him under control.

Chaudhary was deployed at the local Nilopul area where he was reported that a man named Deepak Adhikar from Tikathali of Lalitpur was being robbed.

But, when he swung into action to rescue Adhikari, the robber pelted stones at him, claimed police.

According to police, the robber fled the scene after injuring Chaudhary.

Meanwhile, the policeman was admitted at the Gaththaghar Hospital, but was released after needful treatment, police added.

Further investigation is underway.
