SAARC Secretary-General pays farewell call on PM

KATHMANDU: Outgoing General-Secretary of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation, Arjun Bahadur Thapa, on Sunday paid a farewell call on Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal.

Thapa's three-year term is expiring on Tuesday.

During the meeting held at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, the Prime Minister congratulated Thapa for his successful completion of the assignment.

The Prime Minister also remembered that the regional body held its 18th Summit and did other significant activities during his tenure.

Meanwhile, Dahal also asked Thapa to contribute his skills and knowledge to the nation in the coming days also.

Thapa in return thanked the Nepal government for the support he received during the tenure.

Nepal had sent Thapa as the executive chief of the regional body in 2014 while he was working as the Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
