Sanskritik Sansthan to work towards tourism promotion

KATHMANDU: The newly-appointed General Manager of the Sanskritik Sansthan, the cultural undertaking of the government, Rajesh Thapa, has pledged to make concrete contribution on behalf of the Sansthan towards the promotion of the national culture and through it, the country’s tourism.

Talking to the National News Agency (RSS), he spoke of the need of a change in the State’s way of looking at the artistes as showpieces and commodity for use. He also said that he would take initiatives for increasing the posts of artistes at the Sansthan.

Thapa, who is also the General Secretary of the National People’s Cultural Federation, assumed his office today at the Sansthan’s office at local Jamal. Chairman of the Sansthan Udhyog Rai and other employees welcomed the new General Manager.

He was appointed by the meeting of the Council of Ministers on July 30. Likewise, the newly-appointed Board Member of the Sansthan Prem Nath Adhikari was also welcomed at the Sansthan along with GM Thapa.
