Some fuel tankers refill in India

KATHMANDU: Indian Oil Corporation has allowed some fuel tankers from Nepal to fill up fuel from Monday, Nepal Oil Corporation said. However, it will take a few days to adjust the adversity in the import of petroleum products caused by ten day’s halt in the supply, the NOC said.

With the IOC supplying fuel to some tankers, supply is expected to ease within the next few days, said NOC Executive Director Gopal Bahadur Khadka. The NOC on Friday wrote a letter to the IOC informing about no progress in the supply of petroleum products into the country.

The country has been hit by severe shortage of fuel for the past two weeks. NOC has to import up to 4,000 kilolitres of petroleum products to meet the demand in the country.
