Speak mother language at home: Nepal Bhasa literary conference

BHAKTAPUR: The 38th literary conference organized by Nepal Bhasa and Literature Tamunjya and 57th literary conference organized by Birat Nepal Languge and Literary Conference in a bid to protect and promote Nepal bhasa concluded on Monday.

Poems, lyrics, cultural programmes, satire and drama of Nepal bhasa were presented at the literary conference. On the occasion, literary figure and Nepal Majdoor Kisan Party (NMKP) Chairperson Narayan Man Bijukchhe honoured NMKP central member and farmers' leader Buddhi Kumar Gosain with letter of appreciation in recognition of his contribution to culture and traditional sector.

Likewise, band master duo, Min Bahadur Suwal and Purna Bir Gainda were also felicitated on the occasion. A revolving fund of Rs 500,000 was set up in memory of social worker Gopi Krishna Prajapati.

Similarly, at the 57th conference organized by Birat Nepal Language Literary Conference, culture expert and centenarian Satyamohan Joshi said the frequent conduction of such historical conferences in iconic Bhaktapur town would prove its contributions to the enrichment of art, culture, language and literature. "Literature thrives only when language is live. So, new generation should make efforts for protection of language".

Literary figure Dr Yogendra Pradhan was felicitated on the occasion. The conference began with the slogan 'Let us speak our mother language at home and encourage the children to learn their mother language'.
