Street festival organised

The third Jhamsikhel-The British School Street Festival 2016 was celebrated with much fanfare in Jhamsikhel today.

The one-day event jointly organised by Jhamsikhel Youth Club and The British School Kathmandu featured rock concert, Lok Dohori, Nepali folk music and dance, standup comedy shows and western classical music.

The festival started off with the honouring and felicitation of veteran marathoner and Olympian Bai Kuntha Manadhar with cash rewards. Following that,  players and officials of Jhamsikhel Youth Club’s football teams were felicitated for their role in promoting Jhamsikhel Youth Club from National League “C” division to National League “B” division.

“We honoured Olmypian Manadhar to set an example on how sport persons like Manandhar who brought glory to the nation should be treated. Also, we felicitated our footballers and officials to further motivate them in their sporting endeavors,” said Jhamsikhel Youth Club Chairman Sandan Thapa Magar.

Two stages were set up for the festival.
