Student unions demonstrate outside PM’s residence

KATHMANDU: Various student unions close to opposition parties on Wednesday held demonstrations in front of the Prime Minister's official residence in Baluwatar to protest the registration of Constitution amendment bill at the Parliament Secretariat.

They have also demanded that the bill should be withdrawn, arguing that it would push the country towards uncertainty.

They also shouted slogans like - 'Country should not be split, we do not accept the bill', 'Expose anti-state conspiracy'.

Addressing a corner meet after the protest, Youth Association Nepal (YAN) Vice Chairman Ramesh Poudel and All Nepal National Free Students Union (ANNFSU) Vice Chairman Mahesh Bartaula demanded that the bill should be withdrawn as 'it would split the country'.
