KATHMANDU: The Supreme Court on Thursday ordered that the Judicial Council submit to it the minutes of the meeting which had recommended 11 persons for the  SC justices, among other documents.

Hearing a writ petition filed by advocate Purna Chandra Paudel against the nomination, a single bench of Justice Jagadish Sharma Paudel made the order.

The Judicial Council on March 1 had nominated Dipak Karki, Kedar Chalise, Sarada Prasad Ghimire, Meera Khadka, Hari Krishna Karki, Bishwambhar Shrestha, Ishwar Khatiwada, Anand Mohan Bhattarai, Anil Kumar Sinha, Prakash Raut and Sapana Pradhan Malla for the SC justices.

The nominees, however, are still awaiting the appointment as the Parliamentary Hearing Special Committee is yet to endorse the names.

Meanwhile, advocate Paudel, who had begun a fast-unto-death demanding an early hearing on the case, ended the strike today, claiming his demand was met.

Nepal Press Union President Sher Bahadur KC had offered him juice to break the strike.
