KATHMANDU: Police on Sunday said that a teenager was arrested while trying to deposit a stolen gold bangle at a jewellery shop.

The suspect has been identified as Roshish Dhakal (18) of Khotang.

He was arrested following a complaint lodged by the owner of Dakshinkali Gold and Silver Shop.

Police said that Dhakal had also shown a fake purchase receipt of the ornament.

Police said that they have also confiscated a gold necklace and a pair of earrings from his possession.

Preliminary investigation revealed that Dhakal had stolen the ornaments along with Rs 22,000 in cash from the house of Subash Acharya of Diktel Municipality-2.
