Three amendment proposals on 2nd day

KATHMANDU: Three Constituent Assembly members of fringe parties have registered their amendment proposals on the “revised bill” of the new constitution at the Constituent Assembly Secretariat in Singhadurbar today. The Constituent Assembly meeting, on Sunday, had given seven days to lawmakers to register their amendment proposals on the draft statute. A proposal registered by Shiva Lal Thapa of Rastriya Janamukti Party proposed not to removing secularism from the preamble and replacing cow with one-horn rhino as the national animal, according to section officer at CA Secretariat Udbir Nepali. Another proposal registered by Dipak Bohara of Rastriya Prajatantra Party stated that the secularism should be removed. Prem Bahadur Singh of Samajbadi Janata Party proposed forming a separate commission to address the concerns of indigenous nationalities.
