Three held for misusing government seals and signatures

KATHMANDU: Police said they arrested three persons on the charge of misusing government seals and signatures for swindling youth seeking foreign employment.

The arrestees have been identified as Ain Bahadur Thapa Magar aka Yam (32) from Chapakot-6 in Kaski district, Bhagwan Bhandari (29) from Mirlang-3 in Tanahun district, Bikash Ramtel (35) from Balaju of Kathmandu, the Metropolitan Crime Division informed in a statement today.

A special team deployed from the MCD had nabbed them from various locations on Monday.

Police said one Ram Bahadur Baniya had filed a complaint against Ain Bahadur Thapa Magar at the MCD after Magar went out of contract after receiving Rs 95,500 from his client.

He had earlier promised Baniya of sending him for lucrative jobs in Dubai of the United Arab Emirates for foreign employment.

Police said they have seized a computer and CPU belonging to the IT Vet Technology Pvt. Ltd in Ranibari and two sets of colour printers, fake certificates issued from different universities, letter pads of governments and embassies, stamps used to forge documents.

Meanwhile, police said the suspects have been sent to the Metropolitan Police Range, Teku for further investigation and action today itself.
