KATHMANDU: Police said property worth Rs 224, 000 has been gutted as a building on the Truth and Reconciliation Commission office premises caught fire in Babarmahal, KMC-11 on Sunday.

An electric short circuit had sparked the fire at the residential room of an office assistant on the TRC office premises, destroying a computer, Rs 2,000 cash, a table, an LCD Monitor and telephone equipment among others.

Locals and police had contained the fire.
