TUSC vacancy notice challenged in court

Candidates who applied for vacant posts of lecturers have filed a writ petition at Supreme Court seeking stay order against the vacancy announcement made by the Tribhuvan University Service Commission.

TU Service Commission had announced vacancy for 462 lecturers of various subjects to be filled through open competition and 1,150 lecturers to be filled through special internal competition on September 10.

Similarly, TU Service Commission again announced vacancy for 46 lecturers to be filled through open competition and 121 lecturers to be filled through special internal open competition on October 2.

Altogether, the TU Service Commission has already called vacancy for 504 lecturers. Thus, some applicants for the post of lecturers namely Gyanendra Raj Aran, Medh Prasad Kharel and Samira Karki had lodged a petition at Supreme Court on October 8 seeking stay order.

The Supreme Court has already issued a show cause notice over the TU Service Commission’s vacancy announcement of November 2. The final deadline to fill the application for the vacant posts is December 3.
