Two held with pangolin carcass, Himalayan thar hide from assorted locations in Capital

KATHMANDU: The Central Investigation Bureau of Nepal Police has arrested two persons with a dead wildlife and an animal hide from assorted locations in the Capital.

A 40-year-old Khamba Bahadur Lakai aka Krishna of Bakhrechhap, Melung-1 in Dolakha district was nabbed on Tuesday while he was trying to sell the protected dead Pangolin weighing 8.4 kg in the black market, from the premises of Shiva Mandir at Banasthali of KMC-16.

Police have handed over Lakai to the District Forest Office, Kathmandu, on Wednesday.

Likewise, a 44-year-old Ramesh Rai of Bagmati-5 in Sarlahi, currently living in Lalitpur, has been held with a hide of the protected animal, Himalayan Thar, from Lalitpur Metropolitan City-15 on Wednesday.

Rai has been handed over to Lalitpur Forest Office for necessary action today itself.
