Two pedestrians injured in tipper hit near Airport

KATHMDANU: Two pedestrians were injured, one of them critically, after a tipper knocked them down in front of the Tribhuvan International Airport's Golden Gate in Kathmandu on Tuesday morning.

The injured are identified as Man Bahadur Shreshta (70) and Mina Shrestha (60) of Mahankal, Kathmandu.

The incident took place at around 5:30 am.

The duo were sent to the Sinamangal-based Teaching Hospital of Kathmandu Medical College.

Man Bahadur Shrestha is said to be in a critical condition.

Metropolitan Police Circle, Gaushala, arrested the tipper driver and impounded the vehicle (Ba2Ka 1324) for further investigation.
