UCPN-M standing committee to review govt performance again

KATHMANDU: The ruling coalition member UCPN-Maoist on Friday began its standing committee meeting to hold discussions on contemporary political issues including performance of the government.

Agendas of the meeting were listed out today and the meeting would begin discussions over them on Saturday, party Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal told reporters after the meeting.

According to Dahal, the meeting would give instructions to its ministers to improve their performance after a review on the works carried out by the government so far.

Likewise, the party would review the party's strengths in all provinces as per the new Constitution and mull over plans to strengthen the party organisation across the nation.

In January, the party had directed ministers representing it in the government to carry out their responsibilities in an effective manner.

The meeting had also decided to hold serious talks with the Prime Minister over the poor show.

Party Chairman Dahal had been entrusted with holding the talks with the Prime Minister.
