UN Nepal chief extends best wishes to PM Dahal

KATHMANDU: The United Nations Resident Coordinator and UNDP Resident Representative in Nepal Valerie Julliand on Monday called on Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal at the latter's office in Singhadarbar in Kathmandu.

On the occasion, the UN Nepal chief congratulated Dahal for his election to the top executive position of the nation and wished for successful tenure, according to a statement issued by the PM's Secretariat.

Meanwhile, the duo also discussed contemporary political issues including plans of the new government.

Talking to the UN official, Dahal also extended his gratitude for support to the Nepali peace process.

He informed that the government was working to implement the Constitution, conclude the peace process, expedite post-earthquake reconstruction works and accelerate the pace of development, according to the statement.
