Vice-President Pun lone candidate to contest election

KATHMANDU: Incumbent Vice-President Nanda Bahadur Pun is the only candidate to contest the election for the post of Vice-President of the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal.

The nomination of Pun was filed today, according to the Office of the Returning Officer. Nominations had to be filed by 2:00 pm today.

Pun's candidacy was proposed by lawmakers Rekha Sharma, Subash Nembang, Parshuram Meghi Gurung, Pampha Bhusal and Bhanu Bhakta Dhakal. Likewise, the proposal was seconded by lawmakers Jayapuri Gharti, Rajendra Gautam, Ram Narayan Bidari, Onsari Gharti and Dev Gurung.

As per the election schedule for the post of Vice-President, the final list of eligible voters will be published tomorrow. The election is scheduled to take place on March 23.
