Yeti airline aircraft skids off TIA runway

KATHMANDU: An aircraft belonging to Yeti Airlines skidded off the runway as it landed at the Tribhuvan International Airport this evening.

The aircraft with call sign 9NAHW was carrying 21 passengers from Nepalgunj to Kathmandu when the mishap took place, according to TIA General Manager Raj Kumar Chettri.

The accident took place at 8:30 this evening. However, no human casualty has been reported, according to Yeti Airlines manager Bhim Raj Rai.

Following the incident, the TIA has been closed.

Efforts are underway to get back the aircraft to the runaway.
