KATHMANDU: Police have arrested a 24-year-old man with 8.880 kilograms of undeclared gold-like metal from a hut in Ramkot of Nagarjun Municipality in Kathmandu on Tuesday evening.

Acting on a tip-off, police arrested Simon Somnam, a permanent resident of Bethan Rural Municipality, with nine biscuits of the gold-like metal that was hidden illegally in the hut in an open field.

Somnam used to work as a farmer in the field rented by Amar Kunwar and Bishal KC for vegetable farming, informed police.

Police are looking into the case.
