KATHMANDU: The National Sports Council (NSC) today decided to recommend its board to dissolve the Nepal Amateur Athletics Association (NAAA) for their role in the disappearance of athlete Surya Maya Rai in Kobe, Japan.
The middle-distance runner Rai disappeared in Kobe after participating in the 1,500m event during the 19th Asian Athletics Championships held on July 7-10. Coach Mohan Ghale, who led two athletes including Hari Kumar Rimal to Kobe, was also suspended.

KATHMANDU: Nepal defeated Bangladesh 73-62 to finish third in the Middle Asia sub zone qualifying tournament at the Thyagaraj Sports Complex in New Delhi today.
