16th school level athletics begins tomorrow

KATHMANDU: The National Sports Council (NSC) is all set to organise the two-day-long 16th school-level athletic competition from tomorrow. Organising a press meet today, the officials of the NSC said that as many as 389 students will participate in the competition. Member Secretary of the NSC Yuba Raj Lama said the competition will develop self-confidence of the physically challenged people. Physically challenged, hard of hearing and visually impaired students will participate in the competition, said Lama. KATHMANDU: Nepal’s Surya Maya Rai recorded a personal best time of four minutes 43.24 seconds in the women’s 1,500m during the 19th Asian Athletics Championships in Kobe, Japan on Friday.
