MALANGAWA: A woman in Sarlahi was assaulted yesterday and force-fed human excreta for practising ‘witchcraft’.
According to police, Deuli Kunwar (40) of Hariwan-4, Danuwarbasti, was assaulted by her neighbour Sheetal Dhami yesterday for casting a spell on the ‘spirit’ of his sister-in-law Chandriya, who committed suicide two years ago. “He yanked me out of the house to a public place, sheared my hair on four sides and forced me to eat human excreta,” Deuli said.

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Jhala Nath Khanal today said he will take the initiative to implement the May 28 five-point deal that made way for the extension of the Constituent Assembly’s term by three months.
The prime minister, inaugurating a park at the Dallu Residential Area, urged political parties to focus on implementation of the deal, which “thwarted conspiracies to dissolve the CA and revive the 1990 constitution.”

OKHALDHUNGA: The ferry operation in the Sunkoshi river came to a halt today, affecting thousands of people of Okhaldhunga, Khotang and Solukhumbu districts.
Uttam Pradhan, chief of the Harkapur-Okhaldhunga Road Project, said the services had
to be halted as the pulley attached to the barge’s cable broke. He said the services will resume in a few days.

PARSA: A primary school situated at Jhauguthi in Parsa district has remained closed for the past two years because of a dispute over the nomination of school headmaster.
Shree Nepal national Primary School has been caught up in the war between Hari Narayan Sah and Kaniyaha Sah, both of whom claim they are the headmaster of the school.
